We had really good experiences dining here. The food was great - we particularly liked the bread, mango salad and fried calamari. The service was top notch. The ambiance was also good. The price point was reasonable. It’s a great option if you plan to eat in a restaurant while shopping in the Tysons Corner shopping mall.
I had an amazing dining experience at Coastal Flat Restaurant! The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing, perfect for a casual meal or date. The staff was friendly and attentive. My server Jose was exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits or Filet Steak. Overall, a fantastic place to enjoy great food and good vibes. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
I’d give this place a solid 4.5 overall. Our group of five shared three appetizers and four entrées. The appetizers—deviled eggs, crab fritters, and sliders—were outstanding, easily 5/5. For the entrées, I’d rate them 4/5; we tried the short-smoked salmon, trout, and shrimp pasta, among others. Highly recommend for a great brunch experience. Drinks are also 4/5. Plus, the mall parking right next to the restaurant makes it an ideal spot to enjoy a meal and do some shopping.
Visited the restaurant during the Memorial Day weekend and I didn’t need to wait to be seated. Food was served within 15 minutes of ordering. Service was excellent and courteous. I highly recommend this place.
I came to watch the Spain vs. Argentina football match, but I ended up enjoying the beer just as much as the pasta! What really stood out, though, was the excellent customer service. The guys working at the bar were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!
Coastal Flats is a wonderful restaurant with a welcoming ambiance and outstanding service. The food exceeded our expectations—we started with several recommended appetizers, including the blue crab fritters, baby crab cake sliders, and deviled eggs. Every dish was delicious, with the blue crab fritters being the clear standout. For the main course, we ordered the shrimp pasta, crab cake served with fries and coleslaw, smoked salmon fillet, and trout. The crab cake was exceptional—fresh, soft, and perfectly textured. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was prompt and attentive. The location is ideal, situated at ground level in Tysons Corner Center, making it easy to access. We made a reservation so there was no wait time. Reservations would be recommended but not absolutely necessary since you can spend time in mall till your wait time. Prices are reasonable for the quality offered, and we would definitely return—especially for the amazing crab cakes.
We’ve been going to Coastal Flats for years and always meant to finally leave a review—because this place truly never disappoints. The menu is loaded with favorites, starting with the Ozzie Rolls—warm, fluffy, and completely addictive. No matter what we order, it’s always a hit: lobster roll, lobster bisque, ribeye, burger, grilled chicken, salmon, pecan-crusted trout, lobster salad—you really can’t go wrong. Service is efficient, friendly, and consistently on point, even during busy times. The seating area is comfortable and welcoming, making it an easy choice for both casual meals and special outings. Reliable, polished, and crowd-pleasing every single time—five stars, without question.
Food stays the same quality and taste after 15 years; that is impressive. I am glad they brought back the hot donut/bread; used to be free, but it's $1 now. Great service here; you don’t need to wait for your waitress to take your order or clean your table, as all staff are helpful and friendly. Food is reasonably priced, but soft drinks are on the higher side. It's easy to get a table on weekdays, but reservations are recommended on weekends.
The Friday evening vibe here was amazing may be due to a FIFA world cup match! My wife and I had a short 15-minute wait for a table, but it flew by since there are tons of shops nearby to browse while waiting. For dinner, we ordered the pecan-coated trout and the jambalaya pasta. The trout was pleasantly sweet and perfectly seasoned, though the pasta leaned a bit too salty for our taste. The portions are huge, so we left completely stuffed with absolutely no room for dessert

The service is also excellent. The staff are very professional, friendly, and attentive. They make sure everything arrives quickly, and the service is surprisingly fast even when the restaurant is busy. You can tell that they really care about their customers. The food is absolutely delicious. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared, and the flavors are fantastic. One thing I especially liked is the bread—it is very tasty and surprisingly inexpensive compared to many other restaurants. Overall, this is a fantastic place for anyone who loves seafood. Great atmosphere, professional service, and amazing food all in one place. I highly recommend putting this restaurant on your list and visiting at least once in your life. You will not regret it!
